Hyaena puppies - welcome to life

Most of the people dislike hyaenas or find, they are ugly. In reallity, their behavoir is not fare away from dogs. Unless you observe hyaenas or work with them for a longer time, probably you will change your mind about these animals. I like like these crazy little beasts :-)

Welcome in life ... wildebeest calfs - and births in the Serengeti

The massed gnu births are a truly unique natural spectacle, but the hundreds of thousands of calves that are born within just a few weeks also attract many predators to the area. From the moment they are born, newborn calves become the prey of big cats, hyenas, jackals, and other carnivores, and only the sheer number of young prevents the species from being wiped out. About two thirds of all newborn gnus survive each year. Read here more from Serengeti ecosystem.

Cheetah babies, Part 3

The impressive shots of only a few weeks old cheetah babies. The first photo is for me personally, the most impressive photo. In respect to these animals, all close up pictures are taken from a distance with extrem long lenses ( Canon 800 mm, some with add. 1.4 converter, on Canon EOS 1D IV with 1.3 magnification crop).
